Santos can celebrate their first win this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Joacaba (2-6) 67-58 on Monday. Santos forced 19 Joacaba turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Guilherme Estevao (202-2000) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Dida Pereira (202-1992, college: Sequoias CC) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. point guard Jonata Da Silva (-2000) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Santos maintains sixth place with 1-5 record. It was Joacaba's fourth loss in a row. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Santos are looking forward to face higher ranked Osasco (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Joacaba will play against the league's leader Brusque and is hoping to win this game.

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Joacaba (2-6) was defeated on the road by second ranked Tatui (4-2) 74-61. Joacaba was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Robson Junior (178-2000) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Forward Rafael Santos (200-1999) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Guard Elias Oliveira (189-2001) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Maicon Waldemar (204-2000) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Joacaba. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tatui maintains second place with 4-2 record having just one point less than leader Brusque, which they share with Osasco. Joacaba lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Tatui will play against bottom-ranked Santos (#6) in the next round.
