Matheus Weber claims Brazilian CBB weekly honour

Matheus Weber (194-SF-2000) had a very impressive game in the last round for Basket Osasco and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents CBB Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 24-year old had the game-high 23 points adding five rebounds and five assists for Osasco in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Joacaba (#5, 2-6) with 38-point margin 95-57. Osasco is placed at 3rd position in Brazilian CBB. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Osasco will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Weber had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Osasco, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Matheus Weber averages just after three games 10.0ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Jonata Da Silva (PG-2000) of Joacaba Basquete. Da Silva impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Joacaba lost that game 58-67 to slightly lower-ranked Santos (#6, 1-5). Joacaba managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Joacaba managed to get this year. Da Silva is a newcomer at Joacaba and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Osasco's star - Anderson Almeida (201-F-1996). Almeida scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Basket Osasco, helping his team with a 95-57 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Joacaba (#5, 2-6). Osasco needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Almeida has a great season in Brazil. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 6.2rpg (9th best).
