Vasco da Gama shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. Guard Matheus Eugeniusz (193-2000) fired 21 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard Jamaal Smith (184-1985, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Douglas Silva (202-1998) produced 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Adyel Borges (190-2002) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Forward Brunao Cardoso (197-2002) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and international Lucas Vieira (190-2004) added 7 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

The hosts were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 19-10 run, which allowed them to win the game.
