CBB Round 6 (Regular Season): Joacaba defeat Brusque

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in CBB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Brusque (5-2) on the court of fifth ranked Joacaba on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Joacaba 84-77. Joacaba outrebounded Brusque 39-18 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Elias Oliveira (189-2001) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Maicon Waldemar (204-2000) contributed with 17 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. point guard Lucas Campos (190-1997) replied with 20 points and 6 assists for Brusque. Joacaba maintains fifth position with 3-6 record. Brusque at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. They share the position with Tatui. Joacaba are looking forward to face higher ranked Blumenau (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brusque will play against Osasco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Blumenau. First ranked Brusque (5-2) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th ranked Blumenau (3-3) 87-84 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Blumenau. Point guard Wilson Carneiro (175-1994) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and Lucas Campos chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Gabriel De Oliveira (202-1993) with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Brusque maintains first position with 5-2 record, which they share with Tatui. Blumenau at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Brusque will play against Osasco (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Blumenau will play against the league's second-placed Tatui and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in was also quite interesting. Second ranked Tatui (5-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Santos (1-6). Tatui defeated Santos 66-51 on Thursday. Rafael Santos notched 14 points to lead the effort. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by Gabriel Soldi did not help to save the game for Santos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tatui used an opportunity after Brusque lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Santos stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Tatui will meet at home Blumenau (#4) in the next round. Santos will have a break next round.

The most impressive performance of 6th round was 5 points and 8 rebounds by Heitor Cardoso of Tatui.



Blumenau - Brusque 84-87

Important game to mention about took place in Blumenau. First ranked Brusque (5-2) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th ranked Blumenau (3-3) 87-84 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Blumenau. Brusque forced 22 Blumenau turnovers. Blumenau was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Wilson Carneiro (175-1994) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Lucas Campos (190-1997) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Gabriel De Oliveira (202-1993) with 24 points and 8 rebounds and Joao Mamedes (201-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brusque maintains first position with 5-2 record, which they share with Tatui.
