Cortez comes back to Rio Claro

Rio Claro Basquete (NBB) strengthened their roster with the addition of 19-year-old guard Akin Cortez (182cm-82kg-2005). It is actually his comeback to Rio Claro as he has played here before. He played this summer at Liga Sorocabana de Basquete Second Team in the Liga Ouro. In 14 games just recently, he recorded 5.1ppg and 1.6apg. NBB will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
He has played previously for three other teams: Mogi, Sao Paulo, and Mogi.
Cortez helped his team reach the Liga Ouro Semifinals in 2025.
