UniFacisa Paraiba (NBB) signed 28-year old Senegalese international power forward Makhtar Gueye (208cm-95kg-1997, college: CBU) for upcoming 2025-26 season. Gueye played this summer at ASC Ville de Dakar in Senegalese N1M league. In 6 Basketball Africa League games just recently he had 10.8ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2spg. The last season he played at Kadji Sport Academy Douala (D1) in Cameroonian league. He has been regularly called to Senegalese Senior National Team since 2019.
Gueye is quite experienced player. He has played in five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Africa and of course North America). Gueye has played previously professionally in France (Laval), Spain (Menorca), Burundi (Dynamo), Mozambique (Ferroviario Beira) and NBA Summer League (Atlanta Hawks). His team won Senegalese Cup in 2025.
He graduated from California Baptist University in 2021 and it will be his fifth season as a professional player. Gueye played also for University of Alabama at Birmingham for 3 years.
