Brazilian Paulista round 2 best performance: Lucas Siewert

Forward Lucas Siewert (208-F-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Paulistano/Corpore Sao Paolo, receiving a Hoops Agents Paulista Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed Bauru (#6, 1-1) with 23-point margin 88-65. Paulistano is placed at 3rd position in Brazilian Paulista. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Paulistano will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Siewert had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Paulistano's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Colorado star has very solid stats this year. Siewert is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 7.7rpg) and averages impressive 2.3spg and 55.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Nathan Goncalves of Liga Sorocabana de Basquete. Goncalves had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Sorocabana to edge Osasco (0-2) 67-65. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Goncalves is well-known at Sorocabana and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Caua De Souza (184-PG-2005) of Esporte Clube Pinheiros Sao Paolo (#5). De Souza scored 28 points and passed 4 assists. Despite De Souza's great performance the Pinheiros lost 77-79 to Corinthians (#1, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Pinheiros needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 1 victory and 1 lost game. De Souza has a great season in Brazil. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (5th best) and assists with 4.0apg (9th best).
