U.Corinthians add Hettsheimeir to their roster

Luvix/Uniao Corinthians (NBB) added experienced 39-year-old Brazilian-Spanish ex-international center Rafael Hettsheimeir (211cm-128kg-1986) to their roster for the 2025-26 season. He played last season at Sesi/Franca in the Paulista. In 40 NBB games, he recorded 5.2ppg and 2.3rpg, helping them win the League title. Hettsheimeir also played 11 games in BCL Americas, averaging 3.5ppg and 1.5rpg, contributing to his team reaching the semifinals.
Hettsheimeir was also a member of the Brazilian international program for some years. He played for the Brazilian Senior National Team between 2005 and 2023 and previously for the Under 21 National Team back in 2004.
Hettsheimeir also represented Brazil at the FIBA World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 7.8 ppg and had 1.8 rpg.
He has played also in Puerto Rico (Santeros) and Spain (Real Madrid, Unicaja, Universitat Vic, Monbus Obradoiro and Fuenlabrada) and Brazil (Flamengo, Ribeirao Preto and Paschoalotto/Bauru).
Among many awards, he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Basketball Champions League Americas Player of the Year and Latinbasket.com All-Basketball Champions League Americas Center of the Year back in 2021. Hettsheimeir is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at U.Corinthians.
