Fortaleza B.C. Cearense (NBB) added 30-year-old American point guard Michael Dupree to their roster for the new 2025-26 season. He is the second foreign player on the team, with Australian Alexander Mudronja already signed. Dupree played last season with SK Cherkasy Monkeys in the Ukrainian Superleague, averaging 11.8ppg, 4.3rpg, and 2.3apg in 17 games. He helped the team reach the semifinals and was named to the Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian League All-Imports Team. Prior to that, he played for Veszprem Kosarlabda Klub in the Hungarian league.
Dupree is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in Australia (Tigers and Giants), Hungary, and PBA (Dragons). His career has taken him to three different continents and four different countries. He has experienced life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Australia, and North America.
He has played in the final of Australian NBL1 West in 2024, among many awards. He was voted to All-NAIA D2 Honorable Mention back in 2017.
Dupree graduated from Northwest University in 2017 and it'll be his ninth season as a pro player. He also played for Lower Columbia College for 2 years.
