Scott's 22 points and 9 rebounds give him Paulista Player of the Week award

27-year old American guard Stan Scott (193-G-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Sao Leopoldo Mandic Basket and receives a Hoops Agents Paulista Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 22 points adding nine rebounds and five assists for Mandic Basket in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Sorocabana (#10, 2-7) 65-62. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Mandic Basket maintains the 11th position in Brazilian Paulista. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 8 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Scott had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Mandic Basket's top player in his first season with the team. Missouri Southern State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Scott is in league's top in assists (9th best: 3.9apg).

Second best performed player last round was Anthony Harris (191-G-1997) of Basket Osasco. He is American guard in his first season at Osasco. In the last game Harris recorded an impressive 33 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Osasco cruised to a 100-91 relatively comfortable win over Rio Claro (3-5). Despite this victory Osasco slide down in the standings to 8th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Harris is a newcomer at Osasco and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Matheus Bonfim (206-F/C-1999) of Rio Claro Basquete (#9). Bonfim scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Bonfim's great performance the Rio Claro lost 91-100 to Osasco (3-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Rio Claro not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Bonfim could try to bring Rio Claro's a little bit higher in the standings. Bonfim has a very solid season. In 8 games in Brazil he scored 11.0ppg. He also has 5.8rpg, 1.3bpg and a FGP of 62.5%.
