Brazilian Paulista round 9 best performance: David Jackson (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard David Jackson (192-G-1982) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo, receiving a Hoops Agents Paulista Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 43-year old player was the main contributor (18 points, six rebounds and eight assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Paulistano (#6, 5-4) 69-61. It allowed Vivo/Franca to consolidate first place in the Brazilian Paulista. Sesi/Franca have a solid 8-2 record. In the team's last game Jackson had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Vivo/Franca, through which he has constantly improved. Former The Pennsylvania State University star has very solid stats this year. Jackson is league's best scorer averaging so far 18.3ppg. Jackson is in league's top in assists (8th best: 4.3apg) and averages impressive 67.4% FGP and 51.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Douglas Silva (202-SF-1998) of Coop/Sao Jose Basketball. Silva had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Sao Jose lost that game 76-85 to slightly higher-ranked Corinthians (#2, 7-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Sao Jose still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 6-4 record is not bad at all. Silva is one of the most experienced players at Sao Jose and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.0ppg (#8). He also registered 6.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was center Pedro Leopoldino (206-C-1998) of Sao Leopoldo Mandic Basket (#11). Leopoldino scored 18 points. Despite Leopoldino's great performance the Mandic Basket lost 72-82 to the higher-ranked Rio Claro (#8, 4-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Mandic Basket can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-9 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Leopoldino has a very solid season. In 10 games in Brazil he scored 8.6ppg.
