Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sao Paulo: Pinheiros (#7) and Paulistano (#6). Paulistano was smashed at home by 16 points 64-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Pinheiros made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Pinheiros outrebounded Paulistano 49-34 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Felipe Gregate (188-2003) fired 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Yan Djalo chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Kaleb Hunter (193-1998, college: UNCG) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Paulistano's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Pinheiros have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Paulistano.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Corinthians (7-3) against fourth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (6-3) on Wednesday night. Host Corinthians was defeated by Paschoalotto/Bauru in Sao Paulo 85-68. Worth to mention a great performance of Mogi Alves (198-1996) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Augusto Esdras contributed with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Victao Camilo (203-1997) replied with 18 points for Corinthians. Corinthians' coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Paschoalotto/Bauru have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Mogi. Corinthians at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost.

Cristiano Felicio scored 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Douglas Silva responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Sesi/Franca maintains first position with 8-2 record. Sao Jose lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with four games lost.

In the last two games of round 10 Rio Claro was defeated by Sorocabana in a road game 85-72. Osasco was beaten by Mogi at home 77-92.




Sesi/Franca - Sao Jose 79-71

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Sao Paulo. First ranked Vivo/Franca faced 3rd ranked Sao Jose. Host Vivo/Franca (8-2) defeated guests from Sao Jose (6-4) 79-71. The former international center Cristiano Felicio (210-1992, college: Oregon) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard David Jackson (192-1982, college: Penn State) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. At the losing side Douglas Silva (202-1998) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Adyel Borges (190-2002) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Sesi/Franca maintains first position with 8-2 record. Sao Jose lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with four games lost.

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Rio Claro (4-6) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Sorocabana (3-7) 85-72 on Tuesday. Point guard Lucas Zibecchi (190-2001) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Nathan Goncalves chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Sorocabana players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Matheus Bonfim (206-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and Bosnian guard Marko Rikalo (187-1994) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sorocabana moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Osasco. Loser Rio Claro keeps the eighth position with six games lost.

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Mogi (6-3) defeated on the road 9th ranked Osasco (3-7) 92-77 on Wednesday. American forward Duane Johnson (204-1991, college: ESU) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Raffael Mencarini (187-2001) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. At the losing side Argentinian guard Alejo Britos (187-1994) responded with 21 points and guard Dalaqua Almentra (183-2000) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mogi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Bauru. Osasco lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Sorocabana.
