Georginho de Paula's triple-double lands him Paulista Player of the Week award

29-year old point guard Georginho de Paula (197-PG-1996) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo and receives a Hoops Agents Paulista Player of the Week award for round 11.
He recorded a triple-double of 22 points adding also 12 rebounds and 10 assists, while his team crushed Bauru (#7, 6-5) with 22-point margin 92-70. It allowed Vivo/Franca to consolidate first place in the Brazilian Paulista. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sesi/Franca has a very solid 9-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game de Paula had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Vivo/Franca and it's hard to imagine this team without him.

Second best performed player last round was Lucas Zibecchi (190-PG-2001) of Liga Sorocabana de Basquete. He is a guard in his first season at Sorocabana. In the last game Zibecchi recorded an impressive 33 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Sorocabana lost that game 71-101 to the higher-ranked Paulistano (#6, 7-5). Sorocabana is still second from the bottom in the standings. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Sorocabana managed to get this year. Zibecchi is a newcomer at Sorocabana and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Gemadinha Sacco (182-G-1997) of Rio Claro Basquete (#8). Sacco showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Rio Claro, leading his team to a 95-82 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Osasco (#10, 3-9). Rio Claro needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 6 lost games. Sacco has a great season in Brazil. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.6ppg (9th best) and assists with 4.6apg (7th best).
