Decensae White (ex Mazatlan) joins Botafogo

Botafogo Rio de Janeiro (NBB) has added experienced 37-year-old American guard Decensae White to their roster for the new 2025-26 season. He joins fellow USA player Kenny Dawkins on the team. White played last season at Venados de Mazatlan in the Mexican CIBACOPA, where he averaged 12.5ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.0apg, and 1.4spg in 11 games. He has also played for another Mexican team, Astros (CIBACOPA).
He is a very experienced player. White has also played professionally in Chile (CD Espanol Osorno), Mexico (Lenadores, Correcaminos, Pioneros Los Mochis, Frayles de Guasave and Libertadores), Venezuela (Brillantes) and TBL (Vegas B.).
He won the Mexican CIBACOPA championship title in 2023. White is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Botafogo.
He used to be a Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered the top summer league for players looking to play basketball overseas.
White graduated from San Francisco State University in 2013 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) season as a professional player. He played for other colleges such as Santa Clara University and Texas Tech University.
