Botafogo Rio de Janeiro (NBB) agreed terms with 25-year old Brazilian point guard Matheusinho Brito (183cm-80kg-2000) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. It is actually his comeback to Rio de Janeiro as he has played here before. He played last season at Barcelona in the Ecuadorian Liga Basquet Pro. The last time he played at Botafogo Rio de Janeiro in the Brazilian NBB, he averaged 9.5ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.9apg, and 1.3spg in 34 games.
He has played previously for seven other Brazilian teams: Flamengo, Palmeiras, Tijuca TC, Fortaleza, Pato, Flamengo, and Fortaleza. His team was the regular season runner-up in the Ecuadorian Liga Basquet Pro in 2025.
Among many awards, he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian LDB U20 Honorable Mention in 2022.
