Abreu's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

23-year old guard Leonardo Abreu (188-G-2002) had a great game in the last round for Cruzeiro Esporte Clube Basquete and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
He had a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds, while his team edged out Pato (#19, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 71-69. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Cruzeiro maintains the 17th position in Brazilian league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. It was one of impressive evenings for Abreu as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Abreu has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 7.8rpg) and assists (3rd best: 7.0apg).

Second best performed player last round was Anderson Barbosa (192-G/F-2000) of Mogi das Cruzes Basquete. He is a swingman in his first season at Mogi. In the last game Barbosa recorded an impressive double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Mogi to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Botafogo (#16, 1-3) 87-45. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Mogi managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 2-1 record is not bad and everything may still change. Barbosa is a newcomer at Mogi and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 12.3ppg (#3). He also registered 7.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Danilo Penteado (199-SF-1999) of Pato Basquete (#19). Penteado scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Penteado's great performance the Pato lost 69-71 to slightly higher-ranked Cruzeiro (#17, 1-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Pato can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 4 games. Penteado has a very solid season. In 4 games in Brazil he scored 10.3ppg.
