David Sloan claims Brazilian NBB Hoops Agents weekly honour

American David Sloan (183-PG-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for Esporte Clube Pinheiros Sao Paolo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 26-year old playmaker had the game-high 28 points adding six rebounds and two assists for Pinheiros in his team's victory, helping them to crush Osasco (#17, 1-5) with 16-point margin 91-75. Pinheiros is placed at 3rd position in Brazilian NBB. They are still close to the very top. Pinheiros would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Sloan had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Pinheiros' top player in his first season with the team. David Sloan averages this season 12.8ppg and 5.0apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Lucas Siewert (208-F-1997) of Paulistano/Corpore Sao Paolo. Siewert impressed basketball fans with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Paulistano cruised to a 80-71 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Sao Jose (#10, 3-3). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Paulistano managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 14th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Siewert is a newcomer at Paulistano and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Leonardo Abreu (188-G-2002) of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube Basquete (#15). Abreu showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Cruzeiro, leading his team to a 76-75 win against the higher-ranked Bauru (#11, 3-4). The chances of Cruzeiro not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Abreu could try to bring Cruzeiro's a little bit higher in the standings. Abreu has individually a great season in Brazil. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.0rpg (5th best) and assists with 6.3apg (3rd best).
