Brazilian NBB round 8 best performance: Vitor Silva (by Hoops Agents)

Guard Vitor Silva (188-G-2004) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Paulistano/Corpore Sao Paolo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 21-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, six rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Osasco (#16, 2-6) 94-81. Paulistano is placed at 8th position in Brazilian NBB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Paulistano will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Silva had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Vitor Silva has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 2.8rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was another Paulistano's star - young international power forward Guilherme Abreu (200-PF-1999). Abreu had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds. Of course together with Silva he helped Paulistano/Corpore Sao Paolo with another comfortable win 94-81 over the lower-ranked Osasco (#16, 2-6) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Paulistano to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Abreu is one of the most experienced players at Paulistano and similarly like Vitor Silva has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international center Cristiano Felicio (210-C-1992) of Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo (#5). Felicio scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Vivo/Franca, leading his team to a 91-61 easy win against the lower-ranked Botafogo (#17, 2-6). Sesi/Franca needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Felicio has a great season in Brazil. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.4rpg (2nd best).
