Point guard Matheusinho Brito (183-PG-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for Botafogo Rio de Janeiro, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, five rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Rio Claro (#17, 2-8) 74-61. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Botafogo is placed at 15th position in Brazilian NBB. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 8 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Brito had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Botafogo's top player in his first season with the team. Matheusinho Brito has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 17.5ppg) and assists (3rd best: 5.9apg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Gemadinha Sacco (182-G-1997) of Rio Claro Basquete. Sacco had a very good evening with 29 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Rio Claro lost that game 61-74 to slightly higher-ranked Botafogo (#15, 3-8). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Rio Claro dropped in the standings to 17th position. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Rio Claro managed to get this year. Sacco is a newcomer at Rio Claro, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.1ppg (#9).

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Vitor Silva (188-G-2004) of Paulistano/Corpore Sao Paolo (#8). Silva showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Paulistano, leading his team to a 106-86 easy win against the lower-ranked Cruzeiro (#16, 3-8). Paulistano needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 5 lost games. Silva has a very solid season. In 10 games in Brazil he scored 10.9ppg.
