Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Flamengo (11-2) in Sao Paulo on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Pinheiros (9-2) 83-67. Pinheiros outrebounded Flamengo 52-22 including a 20-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard David Sloan (183-1999, college: ETSU) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Agapy Samoel (205-2003) contributed with 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds for Flamengo. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pinheiros have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Brasilia. Flamengo at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Minas. Pinheiros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Flamengo will play at home against Caxias do Sul and is hoping to win this game.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paulo: Vivo/Franca (#4) and Corinthians (#5). Vivo/Franca (10-3) won against visiting Corinthians (8-3) 80-71. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Corinthians. International center Lucas Dias (207-1995) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Georginho de Paula chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Elyjah Clark (191-1998, college: MSSU) responded with 29 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Vivo/Franca. Sesi/Franca moved-up to third place. Corinthians at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Mogi. Sesi/Franca will play against Sao Jose (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Corinthians will have a break next round.

Rio Claro moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Botafogo. Vasco lost their twelfth game in a row. They still close the standings with 12 games lost. Rio Claro will meet at home higher ranked Cearense (#15) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vasco will have a break next round.

Other games in round 13 were not that significant. Cruzeiro was beaten by Caxias do Sul on the road 78-63. Osasco won against Botafogo on its own court 79-70. Sao Jose managed to outperform Bauru in a road game 91-84. Caxias do Sul recorded a loss to Minas at home 72-88. Cruzeiro was defeated by U.Corinthians on the opponent's court 87-76.



Vasco - Rio Claro 81-84

Bottom-ranked Vasco is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 12th consecutive match to eighteenth ranked Rio Claro (3-9) 84-81 on Tuesday evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rio Claro made 7 blocks. American guard Stan Scott (193-1998, college: MSSU) nailed 9 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and Bosnian guard Marko Rikalo (187-1994) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists. Center Thiago Mathias (208-1989, college: N.Mexico JC) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Georginho de Paula (197-1996) added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Vasco in the defeat. Four Vasco players scored in double figures. Rio Claro moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Botafogo. Vasco lost their twelfth game in a row. American guard Stan Scott (193-1998, college: MSSU) came up with 10 points, 8 assists and 4 steals and center Ralfi Ansaloni (209-1987) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Cruzeiro in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Caxias do Sul went down to eleventh position due to points difference, which they share with U.Corinthians. Cruzeiro lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighteenth place with 11 games lost. Caxias do Sul will meet league's leader Flamengo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 15th ranked Botafogo (3-9) lost on the road to sixteenth ranked Osasco (4-9) 79-70 on Tuesday. Osasco looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Anthony Harris nailed 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Eddy Carvalho (196-1987) accounted for 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Paulo Scheuer came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals respectively for Botafogo in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Osasco moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Botafogo dropped to the sixteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Rio Claro. Osasco will meet at home higher ranked Mogi (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Andrezao Barbosa de Abreu came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international guard Alex Garcia (191-1980, agency: Interperformances) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Bauru in the defeat. Paschoalotto/Bauru's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sao Jose. They moved-up to eighth place. Bauru lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost.
