Barbosa de Abreu's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

23-year old center Andrezao Barbosa de Abreu (213-C-2002) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Zopone/ Gali/ Unimed/Bauru Basket and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had a double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Sao Jose (#9, 7-4) 84-91. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Paschoalotto/Bauru moved-up to the 13th position in Brazilian league. Bauru is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 8th lost game this season out of 13 games. Barbosa de Abreu turned to be Paschoalotto/Bauru's top player in his first season with the team. Andrezao Barbosa de Abreu averages this season 18.6ppg and 10.7rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Anderson Rodrigues (207-PF-1997) of Coop/Sao Jose Basketball. He is a forward in his first season at Sao Jose. In the last game Rodrigues recorded an impressive 25 points and 6 rebounds. Of course Sao Jose cruised to a 91-84 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Bauru (#13, 5-8). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Sao Jose keeps 9th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 7-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Rodrigues is a newcomer at Sao Jose and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Paulo Scheuer (200-F-1999) of Botafogo Rio de Janeiro (#16). Scheuer scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Scheuer's great performance the Botafogo lost 70-79 to slightly higher-ranked Osasco (#14, 4-10). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Botafogo can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-10 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Scheuer has a very solid season. In 12 games in Brazil he scored 9.6ppg. He also has 5.1rpg and a FGP of 54.2%.
