Winicius Braga claims Brazilian NBB Hoops Agents weekly honour

Talented Former international Forward Winicius Braga (204-F-2005) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Minas Belo Horizonte and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 20-year old forward had the game-high 19 points adding seven rebounds and five assists for Minas in his team's victory, helping them to beat Botafogo (#19, 3-14) 95-88. Minas maintains the 2nd position in Brazilian NBB. They are still close to the very top. Minas would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 14-2 record. In the team's last game Braga had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Winicius Braga averages this season 9.4ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Uruguayan center Hatila Passos (211-C-1985) of Basket Osasco. Passos impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 10 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Osasco was edged by the higher-ranked Corinthians (#6, 11-5) 81-80. This loss caused Osasco to drop to 18th position in the standings. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Osasco managed to get this year. Passos is a newcomer at Osasco and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Paulo Scheuer (200-F-1999) of Botafogo Rio de Janeiro (#19). Scheuer scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Scheuer's great performance the Botafogo lost 88-95 to the higher-ranked Minas (#2, 14-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Botafogo can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-14 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Scheuer has a very solid season. In 16 games in Brazil he scored 9.3ppg. He also has 5.8rpg and a FGP of 51.2%.

10. Rafael Munford (195-F-1998) of Corinthians - 21 points and 10 rebounds
