Negrete's 28 points give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

24-year old Argentinian forward Alex Negrete (192-F-2001) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
He had the game-high 28 points adding four rebounds and three assists for Flamengo in his team's victory, helping them to beat Cruzeiro (#14, 5-12) 93-80. Flamengo is placed at 2nd position in Brazilian league. They are still close to the very top. Flamengo would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 15-2 record. In the team's last game Negrete had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Flamengo's top player in his first season with the team. Alex Negrete averages this season 13.9ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Humberto Silva (196-G-1995) of Caxias do Sul Basquete. He is international guard in his first season at Caxias do Sul. In the last game Silva recorded an impressive 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Caxias do Sul cruised to a 89-80 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked UniFacisa (#13, 8-9). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Caxias do Sul managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 10th place. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 9-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Silva is a newcomer at Caxias do Sul and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Devon Scott (205-F/C-1994) of Luvix/Uniao Corinthians (#11). Scott showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of U.Corinthians, leading his team to a 95-62 easy win against the lower-ranked Cearense (#16, 4-13). U.Corinthians needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 8 lost games. Scott has a great season in Brazil. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.7rpg (5th best).
