Georginho de Paula's triple-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

International Point guard Georginho de Paula (197-PG-1996) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 35.
The 29-year old player recorded a triple-double of 22 points adding also 13 rebounds and 11 assists, while his team beat Vasco (#20, 4-24) 85-80. It allowed Vivo/Franca to take over top position in the Brazilian NBB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sesi/Franca has a very solid 23-6 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. It's de Paula's second year at Vivo/Franca and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Georginho de Paula has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.3ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 8.8rpg) and averages impressive 65.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Matheus Bonfim (206-F/C-1999) of Rio Claro Basquete. Bonfim had a very good evening with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Bad luck as Rio Claro lost that game 79-95 to slightly higher-ranked Cruzeiro (#14, 8-18). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Rio Claro dropped in the standings to 15th position. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just eight victories Rio Claro managed to get this year. Bonfim is a newcomer at Rio Claro and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Kaleb Hunter (193-G-1998) of Paulistano/Corpore Sao Paolo (#7). Hunter scored 27 points. He was a key player of Paulistano, leading his team to a 104-83 easy win against the higher-ranked Minas (#4, 21-7). Paulistano needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 11 lost games. Hunter has a great season in Brazil. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.6ppg (3rd best).

10. Anthony Harris (191-G-1997) of Osasco - 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
