Sources: Warriors, Gui Santos agree to 3-year, $15M deal

The Golden State Warriors signed starting forward Gui Santos (6'8''-SF-2002) to a three-year, $15 million contract extension on Saturday morning, sources told ESPN. The new deal includes a player option for the 2028-29 season. Santos is a developmental success story for the Warriors. They selected him 55th overall out of Brazil in the 2022 NBA draft and brought him up through their system. He started his career on the Santa Cruz Warriors and has spent the last three seasons on a minimum deal on the main roster. Santos has emerged as a major rotation player on the wing the last two months, stepping into a starting spot after Jimmy Butler tore his ACL. Santos has scored in double figures 11 of the past 12 games and is averaging 31 minutes per game this month. Santos will turn 24 in June. He was set to hit restricted free agency in July, but the Warriors preemptively acted, keeping him contractually tied to the franchise for at least two more seasons.
