The most exciting game of round 36 in the NBB took place in Rio Claro. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 15th ranked Rio Claro (9-20) to eighteenth ranked Botafogo (6-23) 83-82 on Wednesday evening. The best player for the winners was point guard Matheusinho Brito (183-2000) who scored 23 points and 9 assists. Forward Emanuel Matias (202-1999) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. Botafogo's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Matheus Bonfim (206-1999) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Botafogo maintains eighteenth position with 6-23 record. Rio Claro lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth place with 20 games lost. Botafogo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rio Claro will play on the road against UniFacisa (#12) in Paraiba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Twentieth-ranked Vasco (4-25) made lots of trouble for fifteenth ranked Rio Claro (9-20). Rio Claro managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a good game for Argentinian point guard Fermin Thygesen (186-1998) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Matheus Bonfim contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. point guard Alexsander Vernizz (184-2000) replied with 16 points and 9 assists for Vasco. Rio Claro moved-up to fourteenth place. Vasco lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Rio Claro will play against higher ranked UniFacisa (#12) in Paraiba in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vasco will play on the road against U.Corinthians (#11) in Santa Cruz do Sul and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Worth to mention a quality performance of Andrezao Barbosa de Abreu who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Bernardo Da Silva with 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Paschoalotto/Bauru have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sao Jose. Cearense at the other side keeps the seventeenth position with 22 games lost. Bauru will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cearense will play against the league's leader Pinheiros (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

Rest of the games of round 36 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
