Anthony Harris claims Brazilian NBB weekly honour

American Anthony Harris (191-G-1997) had a great game in the last round for Basket Osasco and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 39.
The 28-year old guard had the game-high 32 points adding seven rebounds and eight assists for Osasco in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Cearense (#18, 6-26) 90-89. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Osasco is placed at 19th position in Brazilian NBB. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Osasco have already lost 27 games and recorded just five victories. Harris turned to be Osasco's top player in his first season with the team. Chicago State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Harris is league's best scorer averaging so far 19.0ppg. Harris is in league's top in and averages solid 54.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American swingman Lamar Morgan (198-G/F-1997, agency: Helping Ballers) of R10 Score Vasco da Gama Rio de Janeiro. Morgan impressed basketball fans with 26 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. It was enough for Vasco to edge slightly higher-ranked Osasco (5-27) by 2 points 88-86. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Vasco is still at the dead bottom 20th position. 27 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Vasco managed to get this year. Morgan is a newcomer at Vasco and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Gabriel Fernandes (196-G-1997) of Fortaleza B.C. Cearense (#18). Fernandes scored 26 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Despite Fernandes' great performance the Fortaleza lost 89-90 to slightly lower-ranked Osasco (#19, 5-27). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Cearense can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 6-26 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Fernandes has a very solid season. In 30 games in Brazil he scored 10.9ppg.
