Georginho de Paula claims Brazilian NBB weekly honour

International Point guard Georginho de Paula (197-PG-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 42.
The 29-year old playmaker had the game-high 31 points adding eight rebounds and seven assists for Sesi/Franca in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Corinthians (#6, 22-10) 96-93. Vivo/Franca is placed at 2nd position in Brazilian NBB. They are still close to the very top. Sesi/Franca would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 26-6 record. In the team's last game de Paula had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. It's his second year at Vivo/Franca and it's hard to imagine this team without him. de Paula has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 17.2ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 8.5rpg), assists (9th best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 64.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international guard Daniel Von Haydin (195-G-1999) of BRB/Brasilia. Von Haydin impressed basketball fans with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Brasilia to edge slightly higher-ranked Flamengo (#3, 25-7) by 2 points 89-87. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Brasilia consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. His team's 25-9 record is not bad at all. Von Haydin is well-known by Brasilia fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was international guard Adyel Borges (190-G-2002) of Coop/Sao Jose Basketball (#8). Borges showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Sao Jose, leading his team to a 82-76 win against the lower-ranked Rio Claro (#15, 10-23). Sao Jose needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 20 victories and 13 lost games. Borges has a great season in Brazil. After 30 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.7ppg (8th best) and assists with 5.2apg (best passer).
