de Paula's 26 points and 9 rebounds give him Player of the Week award

29-year old point guard Georginho de Paula (197-PG-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 43.
He had the game-high 26 points adding nine rebounds and five assists for Sesi/Franca in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Sao Jose (#9, 20-14) 93-91. Vivo/Franca maintains the 2nd position in Brazilian league. They are still close to the very top. Sesi/Franca would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 28-6 record. In the team's last game de Paula had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. It's his second year at Vivo/Franca and it's hard to imagine this team without him. de Paula has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 17.4ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 8.7rpg) and averages solid 64.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jeremy Hollowell (203-SF-1994, agency: BIG) of Luvix/Uniao Corinthians. He is American in his first season at U.Corinthians. In the last game Hollowell recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for U.Corinthians to edge the higher-ranked Flamengo (#5, 25-9) by 5 points 96-91. U.Corinthians' 11th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 18-16 record is not bad and everything may still change. Hollowell is a newcomer at U.Corinthians and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Tulio Da Silva (203-F-1996) of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube Basquete (#14). Da Silva scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Da Silva's great performance the Cruzeiro lost 88-101 to the higher-ranked Minas (#3, 26-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Cruzeiro not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 22 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Da Silva could try to bring Cruzeiro's a little bit higher in the standings. Da Silva has individually a great season in Brazil. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 8.1rpg (3rd best).
