International Point guard Georginho de Paula (197-PG-1996) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 44.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out Mogi (#10, 19-16) 79-75. It allowed Vivo/Franca to take over top position in the Brazilian NBB. Sesi/Franca have a solid 29-6 record. In the team's last game de Paula had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. It's his second year at Vivo/Franca and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Georginho de Paula has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 17.3ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 8.5rpg), assists (8th best: 5.4apg) and averages impressive 62.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Matheusinho Brito (183-PG-2000) of Botafogo Rio de Janeiro. Brito had a very good evening with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Botafogo lost that game 72-86 to the higher-ranked Paulistano (#7, 21-13). Botafogo is still in a red zone at 16th spot in the standings. 25 lost games are too many comparing to just ten victories Botafogo managed to get this year. Brito is a newcomer at Botafogo, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.4ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 4.1rpg and 6.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Phil Carr (206-F-1995) of UniFacisa Paraiba (#11). Carr scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of UNIFACISA, leading his team to a 101-65 easy win against the lower-ranked Osasco (#20, 5-31). UniFacisa needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 17 lost games. Carr has a very solid season. In 20 games in Brazil he scored 8.4ppg.
