Yohanner Sifontes claims Brazilian NBB weekly honour

Experienced Venezuelan Yohanner Sifontes (192-G-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for UniFacisa Paraiba and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 48.
The 30-year old guard had the game-high 18 points adding nine rebounds and eight assists for UniFacisa in his team's victory, helping them to beat Cruzeiro (#14, 12-25) 101-91. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. UNIFACISA maintains the 11th position in Brazilian NBB. UniFacisa is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 20-18 record. In the team's last game Sifontes had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Yohanner Sifontes averages this season 11.6ppg and 4.3apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American Jeremy Hollowell (203-SF-1994, agency: BIG) of Luvix/Uniao Corinthians. Hollowell impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as U.Corinthians lost that game 86-92 to the higher-ranked Corinthians (#6, 26-11). U.Corinthians managed to keep the same 12th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 18-19 record. Hollowell is a newcomer at U.Corinthians and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international center Andre Dikembe (206-C-1999) of Mogi das Cruzes Basquete (#10). Dikembe scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Mogi, leading his team to a 84-70 easy win against the higher-ranked Paulistano (#7, 22-14). Mogi needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 21 victories and 16 lost games. Dikembe has a great season in Brazil. After 36 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.6rpg (9th best).
