American point guard David Sloan (183-1999, college: ETSU) scored 18 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Guinea-Bissau power forward Yan Djalo Barbosa (204-2001) chipped in 15 points during the contest. Guard Vitor Silva (188-2004) responded with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and American guard Kaleb Hunter (193-1998, college: UNCG) scored 17 points. Five Paulistano players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Even 30 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) did not help to save the game for Corinthians. The former international point guard Elio Corazza (195-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) added 11 points and 8 assists for the hosts. Five Minas and four Corinthians players scored in double figures.
