Corinthians - Pinheiros 98-84

Corinthians made 21-of-21 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Corinthians players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Elyjah Clark (191-1998, college: MSSU) notched 32 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international point guard Elio Corazza (195-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) supported him with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists. Four Corinthians players scored in double figures. Even 23 points by naturalized Guinea-Bissau power forward Yan Djalo Barbosa (204-2001) did not help to save the game for Pinheiros. American point guard David Sloan (183-1999, college: ETSU) added 17 points and 5 assists for the guests. Pinheiros' coach Gustavo Conti rotated twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest.

Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brasilia made 7 blocks. The former international guard Daniel Von Haydin (195-1999) had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Brunao Cardoso (197-2002) chipped in 16 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. American guard Cordero Bennett (184-1988) responded with 21 points and international center Lucas Dias (207-1995) scored 5 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
