D'Moi Hodge (193-G)< and the State College of Florida Men's Basketball team (18-14) overcame double digit deficit to win the Suncoast Conference Tournament. SCF broke the century mark defeating Polk 103-96. The Manatees trailed by four at the end of the first half. SCF scored 56 in the second half behind four Manatees who each scored double digits in the second half.
Hodge scored 15 of his 22 points in the second half and Isiah Dasher scored 14 of his 16 total points in the second half. With the win, SCF qualifies for the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA)/National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 8 tournament in Ocala, Florida. The Men's tournament begins on March 7 and concludes on March 9. The Manatees will play the first round at 8:00 p.m. on March 7th versus the Mid-Florida Champion Eastern Florida State College Titans (24-6).

In their final home and regular season game, the Northeastern Plainsmen (13-17) routed Lamar JV, 90-66. Relando Rodgers (206-C) led five sophomores playing in their last game in the Bank of Colorado Event Center, who wanted to go out with a bang. Rogers finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
The beginning of the game was back and forth in scoring for both teams. Lamar scored on back door layups and drew Northeastern into fouls. The Plainsmen adjusted and went on a run to go up 34-22. The Lopes slowed Northeastern for a few possessions and gained a few points back before the Plainsmen took over on scoring again. At halftime, Northeastern led 50-36.
The second half was pure domination by the Plainsmen with everyone getting in on the action. For every basket that Lamar scored, Northeastern made two. Everyone on the team recorded a stat in the playbook and helped the Plainsmen soar. Northeastern will head into postseason play looking to punch their ticket to Hutch.

Franklyn Penn Jr. (190-G-97) and Panola College rallied past No. 21 Tyler Junior College in the second half, scoring an 82-74 win on Wednesday in a Region XIV men's basketball game. TJC falls to 21-6 overall and 11-6 in conference, while the Ponies (22-7) moved ahead of the Apaches into second place in the East Zone at 12-5. Navarro leads at 12-4.TJC led 39-32 at halftime, but Panola outscored the Apaches 50-35 in the second half. Panola plays at Navarro at 4 p.m. Saturday.
