United States Virgin Islands overcame Mexico 79-69 in Central American and Caribbean Games 2023 opener. They grabbed a 28-13 lead at the start and never looked behind after. Mexico won the second and the third quarters, however could not catch up with the opponents.
Imani Tate (175-G/F-1995, college: Albany) top-scored for the winners with 21 points and Anisha George (188-C-1998, college: N.Texas) nailed 15. JEFFRIES Anisa answered with 12 points in a loss and Diana Armas (185-F-1993) added 11.
