Cuba rolled over El Salvador at the Gimnasio Nacional to start their Central American and Caribbean Games with a 86-56 win. Cuba grabbed a 24-17 lead at the start and enjoyed a 9-point advantage at the halftime. Moreover, Cuba dominated the second half and outscored their opponents.
Roberto Martinez scored 12 points for the hosts and Ronnie Aguilar (206-C-1987, college: CSUDH) netted 8. Alejandro Arias (188-PG-1992) and Cameron Lard (206-C-1997, college: Iowa St.) posted six points each.
