From the onset it was apparent that this would be no walkover game. The Dominos Lady Heels took a 4 point lead early on, but soon saw that defecit erased by Esso. The first half saw 4 lead changes and the Lady Heels being up by only 2 points at the half. Recognizing that the tempo needed to be stepped up, coach Anglin then deployed a man-to-man defense for the entire second half in an effort to discomfort the Blazettes;
Esso had a much more difficult time executing their offense in the second half thanks to the Lady Heels defensebut they would not go away. Lauri Webster, Wendy Manzanares and Lauren Keller were like the 'Bermuda Triangle' to the Heels defense but thanks to Dionne Anglin's rebounding, Keisha Anglin's defense and Sarrah Kidd's speed, the Lady Heels were able to slow down Esso's trio and deploy their fast break game with Sarrah Kidd and Courtisha Ebanks leading the pack. Esso began making a late run but the Heels were able to hold them off for the championship!
Final Score 41-34 in favor of the Dominos Lady Heels
