O'Garro nets Division I offers

Caymanian Joshua O'Garro (G) has received scholarship offers from a handful of top-tier college programmes in the United States. O'Garro, a junior at Santa Clarita Christian School, outside of Los Angeles, has received offers from NCAA Division I programmes Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Southern Utah and Cal Poly, according to recruiting websites Rivals and 247Sports. He also has attracted interest from Power 5 Conference schools like Southern California, Michigan, Stanford and Wisconsin. 'I want to get to all of them if I can,' O'Garro told Yahoo! Sports in a January interview about his recruitment process. 'As many schools as possible. I know what a blessing it is to just even play basketball at the next level so I'm enjoying the process and appreciate all all the schools that are getting in contact.' No Caymanian has previously played men's basketball at the NCAA Division I level, the top-tier of college athletics in the US. O'Garro earned CalHiSports.com second-team all-state underclass team honours while leading the Cardinals to a sectional title and a state tournament berth. He's a three-star prospect, according to Rivals, which has O'Garro listed as the No. 35 small forward in the class of 2021. 247Sports has him as a four-star prospect, ranking 94th nationally, 20th at small forward and sixth in the state of California for the class of 2021. O'Garro is a Cayman Islands national team player who helped lead the team to gold at the most recent Island Games.
