National League Round 8: Silver Bullets 2 lose another game

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in National League. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Bottom-ranked Silver Bullets 2 (0-7) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to fourth ranked IRG Astros (5-2) 100-29 on Monday evening. IRG Astros held Silver Bullets 2 to an opponent 24.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.1 percent accuracy of the winners. IRG Astros forced 21 Silver Bullets 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 60-29 including a 26-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. IRG Astros looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 1 passes made by Silver Bullets 2's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when IRG Astros made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Davion Cotterell who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward DeAndre Simpson who added 12 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks during the contest. Center Dardian Morgan responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds. IRG Astros moved-up to third place, which they share with Sol Blazers. Newly promoted Silver Bullets 2 still closes the standings with seven games lost. IRG Astros is looking forward to face MPS Tronix (#6) in the next round. Silver Bullets 2 will play against Plantito (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

The winners were led by the former international center Kevin Maxwell (-1980) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Daniel Mowatt supported him with 20 points. Even a double-double of 15 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals by guard Umar Gordon did not help to save the game for Silver Bullets. MPS Tronix moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Creole Team. Silver Bullets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Shockwaves. MPS Tronix will play against higher ranked IRG Astros (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Silver Bullets will have a break next round.
The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Top-ranked Warriors (7-0) played at the court of 5th ranked Creole Team (3-4). Warriors smashed Creole Team 88-65 on Monday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Creole Team. The best player for the winners was Jerome Narcisse who scored 31 points and 8 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Joanki Montero-Espinal produced 24 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Undefeated Warriors have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Creole Team at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with MPS Tronix. Warriors will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Creole Team will play against Sol Blazers (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 8 Warriors destroyed Shockwaves on the opponent's court 99-31.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 36 points (!!!), 6 assists and 6 steals by David Taylor of Warriors.




MPS Tronix - Silver Bullets 79-66

The game in was also worth to mention about. 7th ranked Silver Bullets (2-5) played at the court of eighth ranked MPS Tronix (3-4). MPS Tronix defeated Silver Bullets 79-66. MPS Tronix dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Silver Bullets' 38. They outrebounded Silver Bullets 63-31 including a 53-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international center Kevin Maxwell (-1980) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Daniel Mowatt supported him with 20 points. Four MPS Tronix players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 15 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals by guard Umar Gordon did not help to save the game for Silver Bullets. Very expected game when 7th ranked Shockwaves (2-5) were crushed at home by top-ranked Warriors (7-0) 99-31 on Thursday.
