National Leaguer Round 6 (Regular Season): Plantito lose to IRG Astros

Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game of round 6 took place in between two undefeated teams where IRG Astros beat Plantito (3-1) 95-88 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Plantito. It was a key game for the top position in the league. IRG Astros dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Plantito's 26. They outrebounded Plantito 54-33 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international Davion Cotterell had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Jake Whittaker chipped in 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Brian Lacap with 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. IRG Astros have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Sol Blazers. Plantito at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by IRG Astros. Plantito will play next round against U17 trying to make it back to the top of the standings. IRG Astros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
Important game to mention about took place in George Town. Fourth ranked SKL Semitars (3-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging their close opponent U17 (2-2) 65-62 on Monday evening. Center Majerle Rivera notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and Peter Grant supported him with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by George Brooks did not help to save the game for U17. Newly promoted SKL Semitars maintains fourth position with 3-2 record. U17 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with Shockwaves. SKL Semitars will play against bottom-ranked SLK Hoods (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. U17 will play against Plantito (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked SLK Hoods (0-4) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to eighth ranked Shockwaves (2-2) 93-29 on Monday evening. The best player for the winners was Ayo Ogunyebi who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 19 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Alex Welcome who recorded 6 points and 5 rebounds. Shockwaves moved-up to sixth place, which they share with U17. Newly promoted SLK Hoods still closes the standings with four games lost. Shockwaves will meet at home Carona (#10) in the next round. SLK Hoods will play against SKL Semitars and hope to get finally their first victory.

Bottom-ranked SLK Hoods (0-4) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to eighth ranked Shockwaves (2-2) 93-29 on Monday evening. Shockwaves dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to SLK Hoods' 22. Shockwaves forced 31 SLK Hoods turnovers and outrebounded them 51-17 including a 29-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Ayo Ogunyebi who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 19 rebounds. Revaughn Johnson chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Alex Welcome who recorded 6 points and 5 rebounds and forward Andre Campbell added 8 points respectively. Shockwaves moved-up to sixth place, which they share with U17. Newly promoted SLK Hoods still closes the standings with four games lost. Shockwaves will meet at home Carona (#10) in the next round. SLK Hoods will play against SKL Semitars and hope to get finally their first victory.
