El Salvador - Mexico 44-90
Mexico cruised past El Salvador for the opening victory at home tournament. Celilly Telles (174-SF-99) stepped up with 18 points to lead the winners. Mexico unleashed 58 points in the first half to take a 35-point halftime lead. Mexico held El Salvador to just 21 points in the second half and raced to the victory. Diana Villalobos (168-SG-98) posted 14 points in the win. Claudia Hernandez (166-PG-98) responded with 12 points for El Salvador.

Puerto Rico - Guatemala 67-53
Puerto Rico gained the opening victory at the tournament. They knocked down Guatemala for 1-0 record in Ciudad de Mexico. Guatemala posted a 29:25 halftime lead. Puerto Rico erased the deficit in the third term and spurred ahead for a 49:42 lead at the final intermission. Puerto Rico held their opponents to just 11 points in the fourth quarter and raced to the victory. Kaelyn Rodriguez scored 17 points to lead the winners. Gianna Rodriguez (175-C-99) had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Puerto Rico. Ashley Rosales (173-G-99) responded with 14 points and 11 rebounds for Guatemala.
