Mexico conquer the trophy

Mexico ran past Puerto Rico to clinch the fourth straight victory in Mexico City. The hosts therefore conquered the Centrobasket trophy. Daniela Sanchez (180-F-98) and Celilly Telles (174-SF-99) stepped up with 10 points each to pace well-balanced effort from the hosts. Mexico built a 33:12 halftime lead. They extended the gap at 24-point mark at the final intermission. Mexico limited Puerto Rico to only 9 points in the fourth frame and cruised to the victory. Ornella Rivera (168-PG-99) and Yarelli Padilla (164-PG-98) provided 8 points each for the winners. Yari Martinez responded with 9 points for Puerto Rico.

Guatemala - Honduras 57-52
Guatemala secured the third position in the Centrobasket standings. They beat Honduras in the final game at the tournament to earn the Bronze medals. Andrea Gonzalez (174-G/F-98) stepped up with 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guatemala posted a 33:14 halftime lead. Honduras narrowed the gap at 14-point mark heading into the fourth quarter. They pulled closer in the final frame but could not overcome the deficit. Nathaly Pinelo (167-PG-00) delivered 11 points for Guatemala. Nelly Leva (171-PG) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds for Honduras.
