Semifinals are set in San Juan

Group A
Barbados - Costa Rica 38-105
Costa Rica drubbed Barbados to earn the first win in San Juan. Alison Torres (165-F-02) scored 17 points to lead the winners. Costa Rica registered a 57:15 halftime lead. They maintained the lead throughout the second half and raced to the win. Maripaz Calvo (160-PG-03) had 16 points for Costa Rica. Rebecca Simpson (168-G-04) and Alesha Squires (165-G-02) notched 13 points each in the loss.

Dominican Republic - Mexico 57-73
Mexico outgunned Dominican Republic to earn the top position in Group A. Mariana Valenzuela (184-PF-03) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Mexico established a 36:25 halftime lead. Mexico sank 23 points in the fourth term to rally to the win. Melissa Ruiz (162-PG-02) had 14 points for Mexico. Ashley Baez (163-G-02) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds for Dominican Republic.

Group B
El Salvador - Puerto Rico 37-62
Puerto Rico claimed the third straight win in San Juan. They outscored El Salvador to enter the semifinal stage undefeated. Nangely Garcia (188-F-02) notched 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rico used a massive 24:5 run in the first period to clear off for good. Jullie Ruiz (165-G-03) had 9 points for Puerto Rico. Silvia Vega (175-C) answered with 18 points and 11 rebounds for El Salvador.

Bahamas - Guatemala 64-65
Guatemala nipped Bahamas to advance into the semifinal stage. Bahamas registered a 27:26 halftime advantage. But Guatemala responded with an 18:12 run in the third term to spur ahead. Bahamas unloaded 25 points in the fourth quarter but could not avoid the loss. Natalie Larranaga (165-F-02) tossed in 27 points and made 7 steals for Guatemala. Elisa Martinez (165-PG-03) had 18 points for the winners. Michell Butler (190-F/C-02) responded with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Bahamas.
