Valdivia is new Libsur Champion - Oct 10, 2011

Deportivo Valdivia got last weekend its first Libsur league championship in the Final Four played in Antonio Azurmendy Coliseum in Valdivia.
Despite losing first game against Victoria on Friday, won Saturday and Sunday games to Castro and Ancud respectively.
Last day of action Valdivia won 63-53 to Ancud and nervously had to wait for 'a hand' of Castro defeating to Victoria in the last game. Difficult but not impossible: Castro played definitively the best game of this Final Four and beated 67-61 to Deportes Victoria that had the first chance for the title after the victory on friday over the host.
So, Deportivo Valdivia got the main category of this traditional league that encourage the development of young basket, with rules restricting the amount of players over 23 years old, and delivering many players to U16, U18 and U20 National Teams in the last years.
