Chilean Liga Femenina round 12 best performance: Narlyn Mosquera - Nov 29, 2016

  follow us on Facebook Twitter

Narlyn Mosquera put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Sportiva Ita., receiving a Player of the Week award for round 12.
The player had a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds, while her team beat Libertad SF (#7, 2-10) 71-63. It allowed Sportiva Ita. to consolidate first place in the Chilean Liga Femenina. Sportiva Ita. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. Mosquera turned to be Sportiva Ita.'s top player in her first season with the team. Narlyn Mosquera has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 20.1ppg) and rebounds (2nd best: 12.6rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Camila Padilla (95) of Sergio Ceppi. Padilla had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Of course she led Sergio Ceppi to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Los Lagos (#8, 1-9) 83-59. Sergio Ceppi's 6th position in the standings has not changed. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-8 record. Padilla is a newcomer at Sergio Ceppi and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was former international center Tatiana Gomez (192-C-81) of New Crusaders (#3). Gomez scored 26 points and grabbed ten rebounds. She was a key player of New Crusaders, leading her team to a 70-63 win against #4 ranked Boston College in a game of the week. New Crusaders is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 8-2 record is not that bad... Gomez has a great season in Chile. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.2ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 12.3rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Catalina Lopez (184-C-84) of Chile - 22 points and 11 rebounds
5. Deisyy Gaona) of Sergio Ceppi - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Marta Moreno) of Sergio Ceppi - 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Francisca Salvatierra (173-G-94) of Chile - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Andrea Valdes (179-F-98) of Libertad SF - 20 points and 13 rebounds
9. Javiera Novion (170-G-87) of New Crusaders - 12 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Francisca Rojas (176-F-93) of Brisas - 11 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
