Narlyn Mosquera claims Chilean Liga Femenina weekly honour - Dec 5, 2016

Narlyn Mosquera put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Sportiva Ita. and that's her to receive a Player of the Week award for round 13.
The had a double-double of 26 points and twelve rebounds, while her team beat Sergio Ceppi (#6, 4-9) 73-67. It allowed Sportiva Ita. to consolidate first place in the Chilean Liga Femenina. Sportiva Ita. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. Mosquera turned to be Sportiva Ita.'s top player in her first season with the team. Mosquera has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.6ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 12.5rpg) and averages solid 51.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 29-year old former international guard Javiera Novion (170-G-87) of second-ranked New Crusaders. Novion impressed basketball fans with 21 points and 7 assists. Of course she led New Crusaders to another comfortable win 72-55 over slightly lower-ranked Chile (#3, 9-4) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. New Crusaders consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team lost just two games this season, while they won 9 matches. Novion is one of the most experienced players at New Crusaders and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.4ppg (#7). Her other stats are also decent: 6.0rpg and 5.9apg.

The third best performed player last round was former international forward Jenifer Fuentes (178-F-96) of Boston College (#4). Fuentes scored 14 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Boston College, leading her team to a 98-44 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Brisas (#5, 5-8). Boston College needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 4 lost games. Fuentes has a great season in Chile. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.0rpg (6th best).

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
