CHASTITY REED

American Chastity Reed (185-F-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for Los Leones and that's her to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 14 points and fifteen rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Brisas (#10, 0-14) with 46-point margin 87-41. Los Leones maintains the 3rd position in their group in Chilean Liga Femenina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Los Leones will need more victories to improve their 11-4 record. In the team's last game Reed had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. She turned to be Los Leones' top player in her first season with the team. University of Arkansas at Little Rock graduate has very impressive stats this year. Reed is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.7ppg and is league's best passer with 4.9apg. Reed is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 15.5rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 52.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old former international forward Daniela Troncoso (178-F-87) of New Crusaders. Troncoso impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 31 points and 13 rebounds. Of course New Crusaders cruised to a 71-64 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Sergio Ceppi (#9, 4-11). This victory allowed New Crusaders to move up to 6th position in Centro. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-6 record. Troncoso is one of the most experienced players at New Crusaders and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.2ppg (#6). She also registered 7.4 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was former international guard Javiera Novion (170-G-87) of second-ranked Univ.de Chile. Novion got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. She went also for seven rebounds and six assists. She was a key player of Univ.de Chile, leading her team to a 76-72 win against #4 ranked Gimnastico in a game of the week. Univ.de Chile is closer and closer to top of the standings in Centro. They will still need more victories. But 13-2 record is not that bad... Novion has a great season in Chile. After 15 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.9ppg (2nd best) and assists with 4.1apg (6th best).
