36-year old power forward Manuel Guzman (204-F/C-82) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Los Leones and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds, while his team crushed CDU Catolica (#6, 1-18) with 17-point margin 84-67. Los Leones maintains the 2nd position in their group in Chilean league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Los Leones will need more victories to improve their 11-8 record. Guzman turned to be Los Leones' top player in his first season with the team. Bemidji State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Guzman is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 9.1rpg) and averages solid 50.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Stanley Robinson (206-C-88) of CDE Esp. Talca. He is American center in his first season at CDE Esp. Talca. In the last game Robinson recorded impressive double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as CDE Esp. Talca lost that game 89-99 to slightly higher-ranked Puente Alto (#4, 9-10). CDE Esp. Talca managed to keep the same 5th spot in Conferencia Centro. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-12 record. Robinson is a newcomer at CDE Esp. Talca and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.9ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 11.4rpg and 3.1apg.

Third place about best performers goes to center Gene Teague (206-C-89) of AB Ancud (#4). Teague scored 19 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of AB Ancud, leading his team to a 94-88 win against slightly lower-ranked CD Castro (#5, 9-10). AB Ancud needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Conferencia Sur. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 9 lost games. Teague has a great season in Chile. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.4rpg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Arnold Louis (201-F-90) of Las Animas - 22 points and 15 rebounds
5. Grandy Glaze (204-F-92) of Los Leones - 15 points, 18 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Rakim Brown (198-SG-91) of Puente Alto - 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Martin Perdomo (185-G-95) of CD Castro - 31 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Darnell Dodson (201-F-89) of Osorno - 22 points, 19 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Brandon Robinson (198-SG-89) of Las Animas - 23 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Jesse Hardin (188-G-93) of AB Ancud - 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
