Las Animas took 1-0 lead against AB Ancud following a tough home win. Las Animas outrebounded AB Ancud 47-29 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) nailed 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St., agency: HMS) accounted for 16 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Jesse Hardin (188-93, college: Walsh) came up with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Kwame Alexander (201-90, college: CS San Bernar.) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for AB Ancud in the defeat. Puente Alto knocked down Temuco on the road in the opener. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jerome Hill (198-94, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Diego Valenzuela (185-94) contributed with 27 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Puente Alto's coach Pablo Ares used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Sebastian Figueroa (175-88) answered with 24 points and American swingman Jovonni Shuler (195-87, college: Savannah St.) added 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Temuco. American guard Kyle Lamonte (191-84, college: William Carey) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St.) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Lamonte is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Dominican power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Scott Rodgers (191-87, college: Drexel) scored 17 points and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
