The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Estudiantes SP (0-1) on the court of U.Concepcion on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by U.Concepcion 99-40. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Estudiantes SP's 22 and had 23 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Estudiantes SP only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Estudiantes SP 49-24 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Venezuelan center Carlos Milano (-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds. International guard Diego Silva (186-93) contributed with 21 points and 5 steals for the winners. Venezuelan Henry Osal (189-93) answered with 8 points and 11 rebounds for Estudiantes SP. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. U.Concepcion are looking forward to face Aleman in Puerto Varas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Estudiantes SP will play on the road against Espanol de Talca and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Another interesting game for Espanol de Talca (2-0) which played in Puerto Varas against Aleman (1-1). Espanol de Talca won 77-68. Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: U.Catolica (#2) and Stadio Italiano (#4). U.Catolica's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Esteban Viveros came up with 18 points for Stadio Italiano in the defeat. U.Catolica will meet at home Quilicura in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
